A one to one session for Sam

Sam came down from Leicester for his session and as ever I ran him though my set up and skills check. I found he possessed perfect footwork but needed looking and body positioning enhanced so I set to work.
The drops proved no problem as he rode all 3 drops easily, commenting on the 3rd being the largest he'd ever done! We moved onto the skills trail and worked on linking all 14 sections on it together by breaking it all down first and building it back.
Pumping, rock gardens, steps, drops and fly out jumps were linked to flat, bermed, switch back and off camber turns. I worked on linking drops into corners and the best line choice before Sam began riding the whole trail end to end and the fluidity was there for all to see.

After a while I moved us onto the 6ft tabletop which to Sams' surprise, was easy as he sailed over the jump and landed perfectly. We spent a while there really dialing the technique before moving onto the pump and jump trail.
I developed Sam's pumping of the trail further so he was able to choose whether to pump or jump sections on the trail and he really got to grips with it.
For our final skills set application Sam used both the physical and mental skills to ride a real steep roll in on the end of the new singletrack trail and the ease really took him by surprise.
Our session ended right there after a few goes as the thunder and rain came. Great session Sam. High5!
